A patient the other day asked me if there was a cure for boredom. He droned on about it and after a few yawns, I prescribed him the cure. A copy of Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

He returned and thanked me. He now understood that he shouldn’t complain about being bored when there used to be a time when everything was boring. Glad to put things in perspective.
