Apples

The saying “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” seems like a no-brainer. I know it is meant to refer to someone being like their parents, but taken literally it’s quite silly. How can the apple fall far from the tree? Unless a strong gust of wind comes and blows the apple far away. That’s unlikely. Riveting stuff here.
